Why a Resting Room?
While your custom Upper Cervical Adjustment will help to "set" the vertebra in its correct position, it is the resting after the adjustment that helps to "seat" the vertebra and give it "holding power".
Since it is in the holding of the adjustment that you truly get well, it is imperative that all patients rest after adjustment for a minimum of 20 minutes, and preferably 45 minutes to an hour in more difficult cases.
Keep in mind that what we do is so specific in resetting the misaligned bone, coupled with proper rest, our patients typically hold longer and need to be adjusted less than at any other chiropractic clinic.
Dr BJ Palmer would rest his patients 4 hours at a time after an adjustment and they would typically hold one of his adjustments for weeks or months, sometimes even years at a time.
